What It Is
What is CAD & Reverse Engineering?
Reverse engineering takes a physical part or the raw data from a 3D scan and rebuilds it as a fully-featured CAD model, complete with accurate dimensions, proper geometry, and editable design features like holes, fillets, and threads.
This is different to a raw 3D scan on its own. A 3D scan produces a mesh: a surface made of thousands or millions of small triangles that approximates the shape of an object. A mesh is great for visual reference, measurement, and 3D printing, but it isn’t truly editable and carries no engineering intent no exact dimensions, no clean curves, no tolerances. Reverse engineering converts that raw data into a proper CAD model: an accurate, editable, manufacture-ready design rather than just a digital shape.

CAD Formats We Deliver
We provide CAD files in common industry formats, ready for design, manufacturing, documentation, or further editing.
A widely supported 3D CAD format for engineering, CNC machining, design, and sharing models between different CAD programs.
A common CAD format used for technical drawings, dimensions, layouts, and design work in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
A widely supported format for transferring CAD geometry between different design and engineering software.
A 3D solid model format commonly used with mechanical CAD software, including SolidWorks and other engineering platforms.
A common mesh format used for 3D printing, prototypes, visualisation, and other applications.
